Pushkar Raj:

Pushkar Raj is a student of Persian language and medieval Indian history at Jawaharlal Nehru University. He takes a keen interest in Indo-Persian literature, socio-religious movements, identity formation, and Indic historical narratives. He has built a substantial body of research grounded in primary sources, archival study, and multilingual scholarship across Hindi, English, Urdu, and Persian.

He has served as a research assistant on several history-related projects and has worked as a content writer on history for popular media. He has presented papers at various conferences and seminars, including one on the “Representation of the Ghaznavid Raid at Somnath in Muslim Sources” at the Foundation for Indian Historical and Cultural Research (FIHCR), and another on “The Limitations of Democratic Practices in the Vajji Confederacy” at Satyawati College, University of Delhi. He has authored fieldwork-based pieces for Silsila Heritage Magazine, researched and written historical content for several digital platforms, and conducted ethnographic fieldwork at the Mahakumbh Mela. He has also contributed several articles to the CSHC’s substack page, a popular initiative on Twitter, including a profile of Durgadas Rathore and a review of K.S. Lal’s work.

Beyond research, Pushkar is actively involved in coordinating research teams, editing submissions from field interns, organising heritage walks and academic seminars, and leading collaborative scholarly initiatives as Founder of House of Liberty at JNU. He is also a three-time recipient of the Aaryajanani Fellowship, awarded in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math.

Arjun Anand:

Arjun Anand is an early career researcher who holds a Doctorate degree from the Special Centre for the Study of North East India (SCSNEI), Jawaharlal Nehru University, where his thesis situated themes of Assamese Jātīyatā-bodha vis-à-vis a framework of the lived cultural world of Tīrtha-s, resisting reduction to colonial, state-centric or insurgent binaries and categories. He holds a MPhil degree from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, where his dissertation examined the political philosophy of Bhaṭṭa Medhātithi, and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He was a UGC Senior Research Fellow in Political Science and has additionally qualified UGC-NET in International and Area Studies. His research interests encompass (but is not limited to) contemporary Indian intellectual history, epistemology, and Itihāsa-Purāņa.

He has presented papers at several national and international conferences, including the 4th International Conference on Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices in Cape Town. His published work has appeared in ‘Tattva-Sindhu’ journal, the South India Journal of Social Sciences, and several other peer-reviewed academic journals. Additionally, he has published three book chapters and is a regular columnist. Beyond research, Arjun serves as National Convener of SHoDH Foundation, a student-led platform active across twenty-one states and three Union Territories, dedicated to fostering holistic academic leadership and collaborative research among young scholars.
